Silver in Graphis Competitions 2020 Photo Annual
Last winter I found a very special model to work with and eventually after an exhaustive search, a very special location. When spring rolled around, I made a 10 hour run down to North Carolina where all the crucial elements converged after another 2 hours of driving.
I spent a half day shooting and came away with an image I actually dreamt about a few days before heading South. I never really thought much about Andrew Wyeth's profoundly, poignant painting, Christina's World, but for some reason, I woke up at 4am with that image in my head and immediately knew I would employ it in my impending work.
One thing my model and I discovered in trying to recreate that classic pose is, painters have a lot more flexibility in arranging bodies, haha.
